SSC result out!
remember I once told you about my SSC on the effects of general anaesthetics on cardiovascular physiology?
I was working like mad to meet the deadline. Because of that, I sacrificed my sleep (had very late night sleeps..on some days I slept at 4+am) and had to miss out reading the lecture notes for one week plus.
But...phew...
I've got my results today and guess what? I got an A!!!
"take care to avoid minor mistakes with spelling etc. Otherwise and excellent report- a well-structured, comprehensive and logical account of a complex subject."
"An excellent presentation of a challenging topic. The quiz at the end was a great way to finish!"
I put in my quiz last minute as I was doubting my choice of putting the quiz (I thought it was irrelevant to put it in but I learned from one of my modules that audience interaction is important). So in the end I did put it in and I think it had made my presentation stood out from the rest. I think the tutor was rather impressed with that quiz thingy and overlooked the fact that I stuttered and stumbled a lot during my presentation.
whoaman...I could feel as if my heart was beating out of my chest when I was scrutinizing the results sheet on the notice board. I couldn't find my student ID number and there were like so many people getting Cs or Ds.
Many thanks to my cg leader, Vincent Wong for taking the time and effort to go through my SSC essay and telling me what needed changing. Going to treat him dinner or lunch someday. And most importantly thank God for His grace and mercy! All glory and praises to Him!

exams finished!!
For the past one week plus...
these books and files have never failed to keep me occupied. Thanks to them.. *shudders*
Almost everything I did was studied and studied and studied like shit for my anatomy spot test and my physiology written test yesterday.
The outcome?
The test was super duper difficult. Sigh. Anatomy spot test* was very hard. The questions were very vague. For instance, we were asked to identify the heart chamber on a x-ray but the blue dot was purposely placed right in the middle of the heart, making people confused only. It could be the right atrium or right ventricle (which one? anybody know?). Anyways, the physiology written test was quite ok. Dunno how much I would get though. I was a lot more hardworking this term compared to last term. I studied each anatomy practical after each dissection class, I wrote extra notes for my lecture notes and appeared offline more often (that explains why people never see me online and were speculating that I was busy..ehem..pakto oo..lols) but still I find the test hard.
We can have masses of knowledge but if we dunno how to apply it, it's no use.
I din have enough time to finish writing my answers. My brain was firing action potentials like mad to my hands to ask them to write faster. I din even have time to look back and checked I answered all the questions. I think I missed out a few coz I wasn't sure of the answer.
Fortunately my study group before the day of exam helped me in some questions. My friend discussed something about transposition of great vessels (cardio thingy) and some constriction of veins in the lungs during hypoxia which helped me gain a few marks. Thank God for that.
After my exam, I got home, online for a while, then slumped into bed at 5pm until 2am. Woke up for a while to cook dinner, read through my powerpoint slides for today's presentation, then sleep and then went off to work. I was soo tired after everything. Everything has become haywired all because of my exam..but everything will be back to normal starting from today....I promise.
Can't wait for the much anticipated one-month easter holiday which will be starting from tomorrow! yay...will be going off to Amsterdam this Sat to relax!
*anatomy spot test is a test of 20 questions where we are given prosecctions, x-rays model, histology slides and models and requires us to identify and answer some questions related to it. It test us on our ability to think and write fast (answering each question with its sub in 100 seconds), to hv really good scrutinizing and analyzing skills (to be able to identify the parts labelled), our anatomy knowledge (which requires lots of outside reading!!!) and to be able to think clearly during the exam (very important!!!).

MASSOC ball!
Haha..just what I promised, I said I wanted to write an entry on the MASSOC ball after my exams right? yea, so here it is...
MASSOC ball was mainly organised by MASSOC (M'sian and S'porean Society) and other socs (the HK soc and BBC soc) on the 13th March at Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Steph, Lynda and I (I only decided to go 30 min before Steph was due to meet someone to go to the hotel together) went. We initially wanted to go with another person as he knows the direction there but Steph managed to ask WeeLeon to bring us there. Smart Steph..or else we have to walk there on high heels!
We were seated at table 5
with a group of wacky people..haha
The guys standing: from left, William and Jeffery. The girls from left: Jean, Priya, Steph, me and Lynda (missing from this pic: Cheryl , Satish and Robert)We were served a three-course meal (which is of course not enough to fill my stomach) and was entertained in between with games.
Edmond and Steph were so unlucky coz the emcees and the people at my table were trying to 整 (bully) both of them by nominating them as prom king and queen. Haha.
As part of the prom king and queen election, they had to take the couple's photo..haha
The event successfully ended with the prom king and prom queen opening the dance floor. While some danced, some took photos. I was the latter.
Some of the church people went there...
church guys...the guy on the furthest right is an outsider!! haha
Now it's church gals...
The whole church group photo:
I like this pic too..dunno why..it's now my blog profile pic and my hp wallpaper...will change it when I get sien with it..haha
Alfred - he's was my flightmate from KL to Dubai. The last time I saw him was in uni in Sept, never knew would see him once againwell, I guess most of the people were quite 'high' that night.
Things got a little bit off-handed...*ehem ehem*
we walked back home that night on high heels as we wanted to save money. Goodness, that was a long torturous journey. Managed to reach home safely thanks to the 3 guys who walked us back and also thanks to God!
On the way back...
we din drink any alcohol but din know why we did that. Haha. It was in front of the traffic light some more and many people were looking out from their cars. Lol
It is fun to go to a ball once in a while. It's the time we girls dress up, put make up and set our hairs. But I somehow think this ball was much better than the previous ones ( one in first yr of college and one in high school). Mayb because the church people are there and probably becoz I looked better now.
It was indeed a great experience!

growing up
I was dragged along to attend the MASSOC (m'sian and s'porean society) ball last night at the very last minute.
I'm a little busy to write a full entry, but I would like to sum up that I had a great time there! Haha..
Anyways, I was browsing through the photos taken 2 years ago during my Orientation Ball night organised by my college and found out look a lot meatier now =(. I've gained weight in UK. But I think I look much better than I was 2 years ago.
This was how I looked like 2 years ago...
urgh...horrible looking photo. I was thinner, short hair, wearing some obsolete glasses, poor make-up and had braces2 years later,
even Steph look prettier now and I look meatier, hv better looking glasses, no braces and long hair.I definitely look better now right?
PS: will upload more photos when I have the time to sort out the photos which I want to upload and resize them...now jz wana focus more on my upcoming exam and my assignment which is due this Fri..argh

thanks...
thanks mummy for understanding...
I was rather apprehensive to tell my mum that I was charged 38 pounds for the failed direct debit. Expected a rather long scolding with lots of exclamation marks on msn from my mum but it din turn out to be like that. But it was a rather motherly advice...haha. Thanks mummy. Really appreciate that.
Anyway, learnt my lesson now. Will definitely be more careful next time when it comes to money. People learn from mistakes and this will definitely serve as a painful reminder for me. Was pretty sad when I got charged 38 pounds coz it was half of my week's salary! One month of groceries shopping! But I'm still going to complain and hopefully I could have the penalty waived.
Hopefully I could get some money back.
