Joshua was admitted to hospital yesterday. But thank God that he was discharged at 1 sth in the afternoon. The doctor diagnosed Croup but mum said it's quite impossible as Joshua is too big for croup and besides, he didn't have fever. Poor Joshua was given antibiotics as big as one third of my little finger and he has to eat the tablets twice for five days! Poor boy.

Some photos:

Just for remembrance:

Joshua's IV drip. He's really brave as he didn't cry when the doctor injected him. I remember when I was on hospital attachment, there was a teenage girl who actually cried BEFORE the nurse injected her.

see the cute guy in the middle!

his medicine as big as one third of my little finger:

Joshua showing off his IV drip:

Feeding himself:

Ouch...

Thanks to monkey bar for making my hand like this.

Jon challenged me to swing 8 times on the monkey bar coz I told him last time I could do 8 times.

But mana tahu today I only did it 6 times and my skin on my right palm got peeled off. Lucky the left hand palm was left 'unscathed'.

Haih...looks like I've to be temporarily left-handed for the next few days :(

God is wonderful! He is amazing!

The Ant and the Contact Lens: a true story

Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. "Great", she thought. "Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry." She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens.

When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains.

She thought of the bible verse "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me."

Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?"

Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You."

I think it would do all of us some good to say, "God, I don't know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if You want me to carry it, I will."

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him....I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

I'd a small mission given by Steph

She told, no, in fact, ORDERED me to help her take photo of her younger self and upload it into my yahoo to send to her.

Before this, she asked Esther to help her. But Esther, apparently the lazier one refused to help. So Steph has to resort to 'threatening' me into uploading the pic for her. Hmph. She was saying that she wouldn't let me sleep in her room if I don't do it for her. Asked me to sleep in the yard instead. So bad.

Anyway, finding the pic for her was not that tough at all. But of course when I told Steph that I took ages finding her pic, I was exaggerating. Heh. Who asked her to threaten me.

The pics are quite nice actually. It shows how much we've grown and changed, esp PHYSICALLY.

I didn't know mum and dad used to celebrate our birthday (as in buy cake) every year. But now we seldom do that anymore. Maybe we have too many siblings already (6 cakes a year!)

Taken when Steph was 1 year old, I wasn't born at that time.

Steph's 2nd birthday, see that lil' baby mum is carrying? I was 1.5 week old, another family member added into the family:

Yay...3 of us celebrating birthday together...hmm...I wonder what happened to all the cakes? Did we manage to eat them all?

another few years later, Jonathan became part of the family too:

sweet memories of last time, we were so cute!:

Just looking at the photos reminded me painfully of how fast time flies.

the small short girl who used to throw tantrums...

has grown into...

a BIG girl :(

NOOooo!! I don't wana grow up!

First time in my whole life.

I actually woke up at 12.20pm.

I woke up a little earlier and I had the gut feeling that it's quite late, but I didn't know it WAS THAT late. Anyway, I was just lying on the bed when suddenly I heard the sound of the gate opening.

OMG

That's the sound of daddy opening the gate outside. It's 12 something already! YIKES!! AND I HAVEN'T COOKED LUNCH YET!

So I quickly jumped out from bed and brushed my teeth. But anyway, it was too late already. Daddy and mummy already got into the house and I could hear them talking.

I didn't know I could sleep until that late. If not because of the night before I only slept..ahem...4 hours then I wouldn't have oversleep. So this morning, no, this afternoon, I was feeling a little drodgy and dizzy, all because I overslept...haih

Din know Janice could sleep sooo long

cont*

photos taken from Esplanade:

half eaten fish

It was rather fun at Esplanade. Especially when the trip is quite educational..haha...I realised that my friends are very good, in fact experts, in catching crabs and fish. They seem to know what sort of creatures are hiding under the sand and they can actually dig the sand and catch it out for you..wah..damn lihai...I tried to dig for some crabs too but couldn't. Scared that I would kena 'kiam' by the crabs..haha...next time must be brave a bit.

Okay...

I know I've not updated my blog for quite some time already (I admit I'm lazy to update...and yes I know steph, no need say already...i can even dream of you asking me to update my blog every night *shudders*)

Anyway...

Just a lil' update of what I did this week:

Mon morning:
went to eat breakfast with Lyn and Phebe. Ate laksa! Tehehe...can you believe that it's the 2nd time eating laksa in my whole life??

Tues night:
SF suddenly called to ask me to go out and 'limteh' with his friends at 'Ming Dien' (former bata shop). Ordered the damn 'Ming Special' (which consists of Teh tarik and some cincau inside) which I WILL NOT EVER order anymore coz I... ahem... couldn't sleep the whole night. *whisper* ( I only managed to sleep at 6.30am in the morning)

Wed:
morning
woke up at 10 wanting to clean the house to prepare for Lyn coming to my house. Sigh. Only managed to clean 1/4 of the house.

afternoon
went bowling..weee..I got the last tho :( so cham. Didn't managed to hit a full strike.

Evening
SF and YC drove Esther and I to Esplanade coz Esther said she's never been to Esplanade before (?!). Seems like Esther is like a tourist in Miri. She seems to hv forgotten all the places in miri like where's Pelita, Tmn Miri...lucky she can still remember where our house is.

Look! cutee ketam, dunno whether i get to see any of ketam in UK or not:

YC teaching us to hold a ketam...
