a week in the delivery suite

I feel helpless when I see women in labour pain and not being able to do anything to ease their pain because it's something they have to go through.

I saw a forseps delivery and it was the scariest thing I ever saw lol. The obs doctor was literally pulling the baby head by force. And what I meant by literally is he got into the 'tug-of-war' stance and used all the strength that he has to pull the baby head out with the woman screaming her lungs out. it was so scarrrrryyyy.

But the minute the baby was born, all the screaming stopped and the mum is smiling again. weeing is gonna be painful for her for the next few days

our male counterparts are so lucky to not to go through childbirth pain. Like what one of the mums said to her husband, 'you will never understand how painful it is'.

not fair! :P

Didn't the hospital provide 'gas' to ease the pain?
I went through the 6 child births with 'gas' and it helped to 'numb' the painful childbirth to a certain extent with dizziness, half awake etc.
So, now you know how a mother has sufferred to give birth, what more to say to undergo 6 childbirths!

yeah but the women were still screaming in pain even though they were breathing the gas and air! the screaming is so frightening! *shudders*

Surprisingly, for the 6 of you, I did not even cry anything out loud, no screaming at all.

Mummy has always been very cool lah, too rational indeed. I still talked to daddy and doctor on how big was the opening, ready to push or not. Must follow doctor's advice closely, cannot simply push any time or else waste of energy, cause unnecessary tear etc. The doctor would tell the exact moment to push, a cut would be made and with 2 or 3 pushes, the baby would be out.

The most important factor is to lead an active life, do a lot of walking to tone and to build up strong muscles, stamina and energy.
